An Enchanted Christmas

Shawna Yambire owns Re-Neux, a luxury thrift store located in a corner space off Ledoux Street.

His excellent taste and eye for design ensures that everything he hangs or displays is in perfect condition and of the highest possible quality. Treasures can be found here, but Shawna herself has many more irons in the proverbial fire.

A talented dancer and an even more skilled businesswoman, this beautiful blonde is far from foolish. She has headlined many events in Taos, including her own sold-out burlesque shows, but her annual “Lighting of Ledoux” fashion extravaganzas on an outdoor runway are the biggest draw of the popular event that occurs each December.

Lanterns light up at dusk and line the aisles of the historic street that is home to the Blumenschein and Harwood museums. Locals flock out and weave in and out of galleries along Ledoux, sipping hot chocolate and nibbling on Christmas cookies provided by the owners. The event marks the start of our Winter Season and this year included a Pop Up event from take a walk.

Once the libations are over, everyone knows it’s time to head back across the street to Re-Neux, where a large crowd gathers outside the small shop around the ad hoc walkway that this year was decorated with branches. bare and evergreen trees covered with fairy lights. .

All the designers, makeup artists, stylists and models are local and these extraordinary shows are choreographed by Shawna, who occasionally walks the runway.

This year’s theme was an Enchanted Forest and as you can see from the pictures, it cast a spell on everyone there.

Re-Neux is located at 126 W Plaza in Taos
